Gregory Halpern grew up in Buffalo, New York. He makes most of his photographs there. He has a BA in History and Literature from Harvard University and an MFA from California College of the Arts. He recently published a limited-edition artist's book, Omaha Sketchbook, with J&L Books. A book of his photographs from Buffalo will be published by These Birds Walk Books in 2010. He currently lives and teaches in Rochester, New York.
